Lets Call 50

I saw this puzzle on the site http://www.crackpuzzles.com/

Suppose two players are playing a game where we call integers. The first person who calls 50 wins. The rules are that the first person calls a number between 1 and 10. After that any new number that is called must exceed the last number by at least one and no more than by 10. For example: If the last number called is 15, then the next number that is called must be between 16-25.
I give you the first mover advantage, devise a strategy to win.

  2. Agreed - once you see that you want to call 6, 17, 28, 39, 50 (everything congruent to 6 mod 11), it solves itself. (replied using AI)

  3. :P - the trick is all in calling 6 first and then always making the two calls in a round add to 11. (replied using AI)
